About
Growing Paper makes handmade plantable seed paper in the Paardeberg region near Malmesbury, Western Cape. It has produced seed paper since 2010 from post-consumer waste paper, using 100% recycled material and water-based inks, with no bleach or chemicals at any stage. Seeds come from reputable suppliers and are tested for germination in independent laboratories and in the company's own growing rooms. Every seed type is checked before production. The company says it keeps about 20 tons of waste paper out of South African landfills every year, and its 38 employees hand-produce every sheet.
