About
The Ladysmith Siege Museum is in Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal. The building dates from 1884, when it was a market house, and during the siege it served as a ration post for civilians. Its original flagstone floors and cast iron pillars were built into the museum. The foyer houses the tourist information office and a bookshop with many Anglo Boer War titles. The displays cover memorabilia, maps, uniforms and relics, with panels on the Siege of Ladysmith and the Anglo Boer War from 1899 to 1902. Details of a historical walk and a drive around the town and surrounding area are available at the museum.
