Shipwreck Hiking runs coastal hiking trails from Port Alfred in the Eastern Cape. Its flagship option runs from Port Alfred to the Fish River over four nights and five days, excluding the canoe trail. Landowners agreed to host the trail, and the first group of seven hikers set off in December 2009. Every landowner provides a distinct hut in its own setting, so the route is both coastal and inland.
