About
Healing Horses Therapeutic Riding Centre is 14 km from Port Alfred on the R72 towards East London, in the Eastern Cape. Sessions are supervised by an accredited RDA coach with trained volunteers. Riding helps with balance and posture, and the horse's movement strengthens muscles throughout the rider's body. Riders may also gain mobility, independence and self-esteem, and can overcome fears while socialising with peers. Therapeutic riding starts with gentle exercises on horseback, such as leaning forward to pat the horse's neck. Side walkers keep each rider secure in the saddle.
