About
The Bartolomeu Dias Museum Complex is in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, near the beach, shops, restaurants, banks and the tourist information centre. Its Maritime Museum combines architecture from 1900 with modernised elements, plus blue Adamastor tiles and three stained glass windows. The shop sells postcards, stamps, books, souvenirs and small gifts. Mountain tortoises and ducks live on the grounds. Whales can be seen from the museum grounds from June to November. The museum was later known as the Post Tree Museum Complex before it was renamed in 1989.
