Uitspan Klein Karoo Guest House is on a farm near Ladismith, Western Cape, in the Buffelsdrift area. The farm was bought by its current owners about 20 years ago. Its historic buildings, a Victorian manor house, a barn and Koppie Cottage, have been restored. The farm began as a wine estate but now grows olives and artichokes, along with figs, pomegranates, quince and almonds. The surrounding gravel roads are good for mountain biking and scenic drives. The neighbouring Buffelsdrift conservancy is home to zebra and rooi hartebeest, which guests sometimes see across the fence on walks. The area also has ancient stone walls that are thought to have been built by the Khoi, before colonial settlement.
