PSP Timbers is a timber treatment business in Oudtshoorn in the Western Cape. It began in 1995 with three partners and was named after the first letters of their names. It soon built a reputation for supplying quality creosote agricultural poles, and within about nine years the small operation had grown into an industry of almost 8 hectares. Its owner, an insurance broker and financial adviser by profession, became sole owner and managing director in 1997 and marketed the products across much of the Western Cape. A second treatment plant was added to keep up the range of products the company is known for.
