Masjid Al Jaamia, better known as the Stegman Road Masjid, is at 38 Stegman Road in Claremont, Cape Town, Western Cape. It was built in 1911 and extensively renovated in 1922, and it has served the Muslim community ever since. During the Group Areas Act the Claremont Muslim community was forcibly removed and scattered across Cape Town, but the masjid kept the community connected, with many displaced residents still travelling to attend. Today it serves a mix of long-standing worshippers and people who live or work in Claremont. The restoration has grown into a multi-functional facility for small, medium and large community events.
