About
The Piketberg Cultural Historical Museum is in Piketberg, Western Cape. It opened in 1983 in a former private home and moved to its current site beside the old synagogue in Church Street after 15 years. The building shows Edwardian influence and recreates a homestead from the early 1900s. The museum's pages also cover the area's first inhabitants, the Khoisan and the ChariGuriQua, and the town's origin in 1836, when the farm Grootfontein was donated to the church council. Weekday opening hours run from 9am to 3pm.
