About
The Eshowe Community Action Group (ECAG) has worked in rural Zululand since 1977, building classrooms for rural children in partnership with local communities, parents and the Education Department. Over the years it has also built toilet blocks, computer rooms, libraries and science laboratories. The buildings are still in daily use and have never been vandalised or repurposed. Local artisans are employed on the building work, and community members assist them and learn construction skills. The group also aims to give disadvantaged children in rural Zululand access to education.
