About
Just Milk is a unifying brand rather than one company, with farms that have different land ownership and profit-sharing arrangements. The group is based in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape, and its head office there analyses data from across the group. It manages 15 dairies on 10 units in the province, with about 17,000 cows in the herd. Its cows are a cross of Jersey and Friesland breeds, bred mainly from New Zealand and Australian CRV genetics and suited to Eastern Cape dairy conditions. The rotary dairies were built by Northfield Engineering and run Waikato Milking Systems and Afimilk herd management systems, which track each cow's diet and performance. A student programme and strategic farm placements build management talent across the group.
